Location is perfect, right next to the Alamo and the River Walk. The historical tours were fun and informative. Room was too warm and air conditioning was inconsistent. Valet parking fee is $35 a day.

Historic vibe and convenient location near the Alamo are huge pluses. Don't miss the walking tours for great insights into the area. Parking is pricey at $50 a day for valet.

The historic charm of the lobby dazzles with beautiful antiques and stunning stained glass. The cleaning staff always keeps the hotel smelling fresh, and the breakfast buffet serves a fantastic coffee that kicks off your day right.
Just watch out, the shower temperature has a mind of its own!

Charming hotel, charming staff with an excellent location just steps away from the Alamo and the Riverwalk, making exploring both iconic sites a breeze.
Nothing, all was good.

The location is fantastic. Stunning historic charm with a view of the Alamo. First night was lovely—room well-appointed, comfortable bed. Room service was efficient and tasty, valet staff friendly and professional. the second night was disappointing. We were placed in a double room that reeked of cigarettes. Attempts to address this with management resulted in indifference. Valet service was chaotic and left our car unlocked overnight—concerning. Sleep was disturbed by loud plumbing and outdoor noise, undermining the restful experience expected at a premier hotel. While there are shining moments, significant improvements are necessary to meet expectations. A historic venue warrants better treatment for its guests.

Great room service with a solid menu. The kids enjoyed the pool and we loved the on-site dining options.
It wasn't the cheapest option but worth it for what you get.

The room was vintage and well-kept, reflecting the hotel’s charm. The bed and pillows were incredibly plush and comfortable, ensuring restful nights. noise was an issue. Sounds from the hallway, including slamming doors and loud guests, were disruptive until late into the night. The toilet plumbing was loud, and you could hear it from adjoining rooms. While lighting was excellent, the proximity to the elevator brought unwanted noise. Despite these drawbacks, the room's overall cleanliness was commendable. Temperature control worked well, contributing to comfort. The lack of a hot tub was a minor disappointment amid an otherwise pleasant stay.

The heat in our room was unbearable, and the AC didn't work at all. We woke up sweating every night, and trying to talk to staff about it felt pointless. The noise from the street made it impossible to sleep, too.

the air conditioning was not as effective as I would have liked, and I struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the night. The lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room was disappointing, as I enjoy having a hot beverage in the morning. The seating area in the room was comfortable, but the lack of garden furniture or outdoor space was a drawback for me. I appreciated the free toiletries provided in the bathroom, though I would have liked a wider selection available to use. One thing that stood out to me was the absence of an AM/FM alarm clock, which I typically rely on for waking up in the morning. the flat-screen TV in the room was a nice touch, but I found the carpeted floor to be a bit outdated and in need of replacement. I did appreciate the prompt room service during my stay, as well as the convenience of the on-site shops and commercial services available. The valet parking service was convenient, but I experienced delays and inefficiencies during peak times.

I was thrilled with the historic vibe and ornate decor that transported me back in time! The outdoor swimming pool was a sunny oasis where I soaked up the good vibes. The friendly staff made my stay so much more enjoyable—thank you for the warm hospitality!

It was a blast for all ages, with thrilling rides, relaxing lazy river, and plenty of shade for picnics. The kids couldn't get enough of the slides and wave pool!
My wife says that dads would appreciate more kid-friendly toiletries.

Great location for exploring the city's attractions and Clean environment. Staff at the Colonial Restaurant were friendly and provided excellent service. The breakfast food was delicious and satisfying.
The room was small and not ideal for a longer stay. Front desk staff and bar staff were not very welcoming.

My friends and I had a blast exploring the iconic Pearl Brewery , so much food, so little time! Then we checked out the San Antonio Missions tour , epic history vibes! The waterpark in New Braunfels was straight up lit , slides for days, fam!
Just a suggestion , more late, night hangout spots for the young crowd would make the experience even more dope! .

Unexpectedly, we had to request maid service by 9 am, which we weren't informed about. The historic section of our room was beautiful but hard to find. Despite a few drawbacks, the hotel's rich history and wonderful spa made our stay memorable. Overall I'll recommend this hotel.

the menger is so clean and well kept - it's impressive for its age. the location is perfect - close to the riverwalk and the alamo. the staff were helpful and polite, and the coffee/tea maker in the room was very good.
Couldn't recommend more.

Wow, what a gorgeous place to stay! The staff were super friendly, and the building itself was breathtaking. The spooky haunted experience was so fun – the TV turning on and off by itself and the bathroom door mysteriously moving added a cool touch. Plus, the bed was insanely comfy!
There were a few downsides, though. The bathroom was a bit cramped, making it tough for bigger folks to move around comfortably.

Enjoyed sipping vintage cocktails in a cozy ambience, exploring the River Walk's scenic beauty, and the thrilling marine adventures. My evening started with a ghost walk after an elegant meal.
Who doesn't love expired vouchers for kids' meals and paying more than the hotel next door for parking? .

stayed in the historic section of menger and loved the room. the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we've slept in. bathroom is a little small and awkward but being they had to add it to make it a hotel room, cannot complain. room is huge with lots of space. location was fantastic. right by alamo. minutes to the central portion of the riverwalk. but despite all the tourist activity, hotel room was quiet. very nicely maintained inside. lovely courtyard, and nice pool area.
nothing that i didnt like 😊

Our stay at this charming and historic hotel was an absolute delight. We were amazed by the impeccable cleanliness and upkeep of the older section of the hotel, especially given its age. The photos and displays throughout the building added an extra touch of historical charm. The location was perfect, with easy access to the Riverwalk and the Alamo right at our doorstep.
One minor flaw was the outdated shower and showerhead, which could have been replaced for a better experience.
